Spirit companion is an incorporeal silver wolf, around the size of a very large dog. The wolf spirit follows Drynd as an observer, and cannot interact meaningfully with objects in the real world outside of battle. The spirit wolf cannot speak.
Raised by a loving family in the Featherpetal Forest, Drynd was nonetheless a very aloof child, even by elven standards. Generally choosing to observe and understand human contact rather than engage in it himself, it came as no surprise to those who knew him that Drynd chose the path of the shaman.
During the ritual induction into the life of shamanism, Drynd projected his consciousness through the spirit realm and spoke to the spirit of the great wolf. From this meeting, Drynd gained the ability to call upon a ghostly lupine spirit to aid him in battle.
Though he is perceptive, observant, and wise beyond his years, Drynd does not fare well in social encounters and tends to come across as an outsider wherever he goes. He wanders from place to place, accumulating knowledge and understanding, that one day he may see the great truths of life and death beyond the world that we see.
